From FLOWS Forum comes a request for help regarding Court of Appeal hearing as to application of Practice Direction 12J.

Rights of Women has been granted intervener status along with 3 other women’s organisations (Women’s Aid, Rape Crisis and Welsh Women’s Aid) in an important family case being heard in January. The case involves four appeals in child arrangements cases which have been joined and leap-frogged to the Court of Appeal. The appeals all raise issues about the way in which PD12J is being implemented (or not), experiences of trauma including trauma as a result of sexual violence from the father and assessment of risk in domestic abuse cases.

We are currently preparing our evidence and would like to ask for your help. If you have any case studies that raise any of the particular issues mentioned above or think there are particular points we should be making we would love to hear from you. The timescales are extremely tight, our evidence is due by 11th January which means we would need a response before Christmas if possible. If you have anything you would like to contribute, please contact Olive – olive@row.org.uk
