Hello to all Domestic Abuse Champs, whether trained, partially trained or waiting to attend.

We have a couple of important messages:

Your Network Needs You

At the end of every year, we ask our Champions what is working, whether we offer the right support and, most importantly, what is not working or missing from local services. The survey takes around 8 minutes to complete (time for a cuppa and a couple of biccies).

Once we have all the responses we can wring out we send a copy of the local Champ responses to respective strategists.

This allows our DA Champions to speak directly to those that make decisions about how things will work locally. If there are service gaps or problems with processes, they need to know. Transversely, when something is working well, they also need to know. This is an essential part of being a DA Champion, so please check your inbox for the survey link which will be emailed very soon.

Putting our Stamp on a Bus

Thanks to one of our longstanding DA Champions and her passionate plea, Reducing the Risk has been shortlisted to have an Oxford bus decked out in our livery. The competition is hot with some amazing charities but we believe we could really do some good with this.

This will mean that messages, website and our local helpline can all be seen by anyone it passes — including victims who may not know where to turn.

The possibilities of reaching out to those living with domestic abuse are unique with this scheme, so please click here or on the picture above to vote for our entry (option 5). This is also the 16 days of activism, so why not send this link to anyone you know and beg for their vote on our behalf. Don’t worry if you are not in Oxford, it is not limited to local people, just people wanting to support us. The closing date for voting is December 31st. As ever, many thanks for your support!
