Reducing the Risk are really pleased to be joined by Alison Smith for our upcoming webinar on Thursday 11th February 14:30 – 15:30 (sign-up below).

Alison has significant experiencing of working with perpetrators and victims of domestic violence in her private practice, children’s social care and the criminal justice system in a variety of roles. In 2018, Alison and a colleague Elaine Nembhard from Mayday Social Work Consultancy launched Mayday Domestic Violence Services to raise awareness of the links between Coercive Control, unresolved trauma and personality disorders.

More recently Alison has been delivering the Governments Reducing Parental Conflict programme to multidisciplinary teams in local authorities nationally. She has observed many front line practitioners lacking the confidence to differentiate between coercive control, complex co-parenting and parental alienation. Alison has in-depth knowledge of Narcissistic Personality Disorder and recently published her book to support practitioners to understand the complexities of safeguarding children exposed to domestic abuse.

You can view and purchase her book here.

Alison has also provided a statement regarding a recent piece from Cafcass on parental alienation here.
