(Trainee) Military Independent Domestic Violence Advisor

Locality: South Oxfordshire and Armed Forces communities across Oxfordshire

Salary: £27,000 – £29,00 depending on experience/qualification. Increase after qualifying as an IDVA and after a positive review two years review

Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays

Hours of work: 37 hrs per week

Notice: 2 calendar months (1 month during the Probationary period)

Probationary period: 6 months

Accountable to: Service Manager of Reducing the Risk of Domestic Abuse, and ultimately the CEO and Board of Trustees

Reducing the Risk is an Oxfordshire-based charity committed to the safety and empowerment of victims of abuse and of those who support them – and to promoting partnership working. The charity acts as a safe, trustworthy, responsive and inclusive resource for victims and their families, through its services in Oxfordshire, and for volunteers and practitioners nationally through its consultancy and training. It delivers the High Risk and Specialist Court-Based IDVA Service in Oxfordshire and the Reducing the Risk’s DA Champion Network approach nationally.

This role supports our Domestic Abuse Torchbearer Initiative, a two-year project funded by South Oxfordshire District Council and the Armed Forces Covenant Fund. The project enhances access to support for domestic abuse victim-survivors in both the Armed Forces community and the wider South Oxfordshire area. The post holder will work across military and civilian populations and will contribute to the High Risk IDVA team when required.
